A lot of people ask me, how did I get the idea to make this kind of art work.
I live and work in Berlin. My photographic work has been published in many books and magazines since 1990, followed by numerous solo and group exhibitions both at home and abroad. After working as self-employed advertising photographer and as editor of photography, I am now a CEO of a publishing house.
As a former professional photographer I am a very visual and creative person. My interest in photography faded in the last years due to fact that the digital era has made images so widely available. I was looking for something new that is visual, yet unique.
In late 2007 I found out about the technique of gilding. It has fascinated me from day one and I knew this is what I was looking for. Since then have been spending a lot of time to find my own way of creating something unique.
